Dear Friend
On behalf of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, as we close out 2024 and head into the
holidays, two words come to mind: thank you.
Thank you for supporting us and providing the financial backing that allows us to continue
Norfolk’s 120+ year tradition of an all-volunteer fire department.
As volunteers, we are on call all day, everyday—24/7/365. When the siren sounds, we are
there. This year, our volunteers responded to more than 200 calls—house fires, car accidents,
trail rescues, you name it. With the dry weather throughout the fall, we were especially on guard
for forest fires.
We are able to do all of this thanks to you. Every penny of your donation directly supports our
everyday operations.
This year, we are focusing on replacing one of our pumper trucks. It is one of our most
essential pieces of equipment, but is now nearly three decades old. Keeping our apparatus up
to date enables us to be ready for any emergency, creates a safer environment for our
volunteers, while helping keep a lid on the town’s property insurance cost. All donations from
this letter go directly to our Vehicle Replacement Fund.
We are also happy to report that in 2024 we added new members, including three who will be
taking classes to become interior firefighters. As always, we need all the help we can get. And it
does not have to be running into burning buildings. There are business jobs, support jobs and
operational jobs within the department. Something for everyone. Inquire today.
Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization, so it
is tax deductible. Mail a check to Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, 20 Shepard Rd, Norfolk,
CT 06058. Or send via PayPal: www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1313695

And again: thank you. None of this would be possible without your support.
With gratitude,
Fire Chief Brian Hutchins & President Paul Padua
