Dear Friend
Thanks to your generosity the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department continues to be a very well-equipped, well-trained organization. We need your help again. Any proceeds from this letter will go directly to our Vehicle Replacement Fund. Industry standards mandate that the life span of a pumper truck at 30 years. After this time, it loses its class “A” status and should be removed from front line service. Our Engine 30 was built in 1995 and is destined for replacement after 2025. Keeping three fire engines as we do in our fleet reduces property insurance rates for all Norfolk homeowners. This also helps us to combat any emergency in Norfolk or surrounding towns with efficiency and poise.
25 years ago, if we answered one hundred calls for service it was a banner year. Now we are on pace to be well over the two hundred mark. Providing any service needed to our residents is the fire department’s sworn duty. The dedicated men and women that accomplish this are completely volunteer. Leaving their families at any hour of the day or night, missing holidays, and birthdays, and juggling a forty plus hour work week at their jobs. We are always looking for volunteers, and there are many different types of jobs within the department beyond the obvious of entering a burning building. We need help driving the big red trucks and if that is not your thing, we have openings on the administrative side. Helping to make refreshments and coffee at a large-scale incident is still another area we could use assistance. We have many diverse types of membership. Find your niche today.
Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. Mail a check to NVFD, 20 Shepard Rd, Norfolk, CT. Or we have PayPal: www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1313695
