The William F. Kelley Memorial Road Race

A Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship Fundraiser

Location: Westside Road & Village Green, Norfolk, CT


About the Race

Join us for a scenic 5-mile road race starting on Westside Road and finishing at the Village Green in the heart of town. This annual Memorial Day tradition supports the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department’s college and undergraduate scholarship program, benefiting local Norfolk students.

Parking: Mountain Road at the baseball field.
Road Closure: Westside Road at Sunset Ridge (~10:30 AM). Access parking via Route 272 (Litchfield Road).


Registration & Bib/Shirt Pickup

Race Day Pickup:

  • Location: Intersection of Mountain Road & Westside Road
  • Time: 10:00 – 11:45 AM

Optional Early Pickup:

  • Date: Sunday evening before the race
  • Time: 5:00 – 7:00 PM
  • Location: In front of the Norfolk Hub (Station Place)

Note: There will be NO registration on race day. Donations are welcome.


Walking Division

  • Start Time: 11:30 AM (untimed)
  • Arrive at the start line by 11:30 AM
  • Designed for a safer, more enjoyable experience

Race Features

  • USATF Measurement Certified
  • Chip Timing by Greystone Racing (5 Miles / 8.046 km)
  • Music & water stations along the route
  • FD & EMS personnel onsite for assistance
  • Lavatories available at the ballfield & starting line

Course Description

  • Start: Westside Road by Mountain Road
  • Route: South on Westside Road → Litchfield Road (Rt. 272) → North to Village Green
  • Finish: Village Green, Norfolk, CT

Bottled water will be available along the course.

  • 1st/2nd/3rd place in each division (male & female)
  • Oldest runner (Senator)

  • Furthest distance

Awards Ceremony: Immediately following the race at the Town Green (~1:45 PM)
