Norfolk Fire Department Fire Cadets, Post 952
Fire Cadet – Any candidate between 14 and 18 years of age. Non-interior personnel to provide support
services necessary for the mitigation of an emergency. Encouraged to attend regular department meetings,
drills and practices for more intensive training. Will adhere to the Fire Cadet Standard Operating Procedures
(FCSOPs) & the NVFD Bylaws. An accompanying parent/guardian signature and their contact info is required
with application. Must present proof of an annual physical examination (a school physical will be accepted)
Individules (boys & girls) ages 14 thru 18 can participate with the Norfolk Fire Department to learn techniques in safety, fire fighting, and teamwork.
– The Fire Cadets meet on the 1st Monday of every month at 7pm with the regular fire department membership meeting
– Fire Cadet drills are with the Norfolk Fire Department on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monday of each month at 6:30pm
– Fire Cadets are issued turnout gear, participate in trainings, and respond to all emergency calls with the fire department membership.
