Memorial Day Community Gathering at the Norfolk Fire Station

May 24, 2026 2pm Update: A reminder that Norfolk’s Memorial Day Parade will take place Monday morning (May 25th) at 9:00 AM — rain or shine.

The parade, Memorial Day recognitions on the town greens, and the reading of the Honor Roll will all continue as planned despite the weather. Please come prepared with rain gear and umbrellas.

Join us as our community comes together to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

The parade will begin at Town Hall and conclude at the Norfolk Firehouse. Following the ceremonies, everyone is invited inside the fire station to dry off, warm up, and enjoy coffee, juice, donuts, and fellowship with neighbors and members of the department.

The road race is also still on at 12:00 noon. Runners and spectators alike should dress for anything Mother Nature gives us and come out to cheer on our committed participants.

We look forward to sharing this meaningful Memorial Day tradition with the community.

Join the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department for our Annual Community Gathering held immediately following the Memorial Day Parade. The parade concludes at the Norfolk Fire House at approximately 9:45 AM, and the Open House will continue until 11:00 AM.

Residents and visitors are invited to stop by, meet your local volunteer firefighters, and spend some time together as a community in a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. Tour the firehouse, explore the fire trucks up close, and learn more about the work your volunteer firefighters do to keep the community safe.

Complimentary coffee, donuts, and juice are provided, courtesy of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department—so come enjoy some refreshments and great company.

This event is perfect for all ages. Restrooms are available at the firehouse, as well as next door at the Ambulance Headquarters.

Following this, the community is invited to continue the conversation on the Town Green for the annual 5-mile road race, beginning at 12:00 PM. A food truck will be on-site—offering a great opportunity to enjoy your first taste of summer. Enjoy the afternoon on the green as you relax and cheer on the runners. All Memorial Day events and road race are held rain or shine.

Participants are expected to begin crossing the finish line around 12:30 PM, with the final runners finishing at approximately 2:00 PM where the awards will be presented.
